Papa and Mama Root returns to the ballpark in 2011.

Papa and Mama will be taking their stripped down versions of the great songs of the 1950's and 1960's to four different baseball leagues, and eleven different teams during the summer of 2011.

The duo will perform 55 pregame shows beginning in May and lasting through September.

Papa and Mama will play before games with the Auburn Doubledays, Batavia Muckdogs, Elmira Pioneers, Erie Seawolves, Geneva Redwings, Hornell Dodgers, Jamestown Jammers, Newark Pilots, Niagara Power, Syracuse SaltCats, and the Webster Yankees.

"We are thrilled to be heading back out on the road and perform our family friendly, old time rock and roll in front of thousands of baseball and music fans this summer," stated Papa Root.

He continued, " We've added quite a few new tribute songs as well as five new originals to our rotation. Of course, we'll still be performing fan favorites as well."

Papa sings lead and plays an acoustic/electric guitar and harmonica. Mama adds vocal harmonies and select rhythm items. The duo expands to a trio with the addition of veteran base guitar player, RockDoc.

"What could be better than doing something you love and catching baseball games at the same time," added Mama Root.

In addition to the baseball shows, Papa and Mama Root will be performing at community and civic shows in the Western New York area, as well as restaurants, fund raisers and private parties.
