GRAND ISLAND, NY – Papa and Mama Root, oldies rock and roll tribute duo and country rock/Americana original music recording artists from Grand Island, NY, have released a new 12-song original music CD entitled, “Second Helpings.” The CD is in the process of being distributed to major retailers such as Rhapsody, iTunes, Napster, and Amazon. The country/country rock CD continues Papa and Mama’s traditional real, live, and simple approach. The music was performed, and recorded while performing, without the use of backing tracks or other studio effects. Papa and Mama features Papa on acoustic electric guitar, harmonica and lead vocals. Mama adds harmonic backing vocals. The CD is available in both hard copy and digital download.

Papa and Mama Root previously released a 15-song original roots rock CD entitled “Home Cookin’” in 2009. That CD and download is still available from most major online retailers. Both “Home Cookin’” and “Second Helpings” are also available at the band’s website: www.papaandmamaroot.com.

Papa and Mama Root perform throughout the northeastern United States at community gatherings, special events, and other family friendly venues. The duo also appears annually at up to eighty professional minor league baseball games performing pre-game music. The yearly baseball park tour runs from May through September and includes shows with teams from five different leagues.

The duo will also be performing on the Gulf Coast during the 2012-2013 winter season.
