Formed in 2007, Papa and Mama Root offer a listening party atmosphere blending a wide array of Americana roots music. Papa and Mama are an acoustic electric duo alternative to loud full tilt "cover" bands, or musicians who rely on pre-recorded, computer enhanced backing tracks.
They don't "cover" songs, they pay tribute by making them their own... simple and unique in style and delivery.
Papa and Mama Root have toured the Northeast doing pre-game shows in several professional baseball leagues.
The have also performed in center city concerts, car shows,a wide variety of community events, restaurants, car shows, private parties, fundraisers, and 55+ communities.
Enjoy their American Blend tribute song selections culled from Rolling Stone Magazine's Top 500 list. In addition Papa and Mama Root perform the Americana, singer songwriter style original selections from their own CDs. Several original selections off of the "Home Cookin'" and "Second Helpings" CDs have charted in the National Airplay Top 100 Americana charts of Record World Magazine.
Papa and Mama also perform their own Americana original songs...musical vignettes that feature a striking sonic and lyrical resemblance to the hits you have loved all of your life.
Papa and Mama take the stage with a simple, no frills approach...an acoustic/electric guitar, harmonica and two voices blending in harmony. There are no pre-recorded instruments or backing tracks of any kind. They adapt, simplify, and interpret the great songs, and deliver them in an old school '60's style live music performance experience.
