Papa and Mama strip down the classics to the basics and spin unique interpretations of song styles including old time rock,
motown, country and southern rock.

Papa and Mama's new CD release "Home Cookin'" is now available...a 15 song CD full of the stories of life.
The style is Americana influenced by '60's rock and roll, southern rock, country rock and folk rock. Stripped down to the essentials...acoustic electric guitar, bass guitar, a little harp, lead and backing vocals.

Papa and Mama Root grew out of that project to offer a slightly different view of the 50's, 60's. and early 70's music...an affordable acoustic electric duo/trio alternative to full tilt boogie bands.
Papa Root plays electric acoustic guitar and fills in with harmonica. He is also the lead singer. Mama's solid vocal harmonies that add the texture and richness to the songs.
